MEDIA RELEASE: 2 KIDS DROWN IN A QUARRY IN MARAPYANE

The Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality is saddened by the untimely death of two school kids, on Saturday (12 January 2019). A group of local kids from Marapyane (in Wards 23 and 24) were swimming in a quarry in a nearby veld, when suddenly two of them drowned.
The search and rescue teams, comprising of different specialists were called in to the scene, and the kids were later in the afternoon recovered and confirmed dead. The two deceased kids are identified as Raubas Ntsweng (12) and Goitsemang Morokho (10). Both learners were attending primary school and will be dearly missed by their fellow school mates.
The Executive Mayor visited the families yesterday to personally convey our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
The Municipality and the community of Marapyane are devastated by this painful incident. We would like to convey our condolences, our hearts pours out to the kids families to find strength during this difficult time.
The funeral services for both kids are confirmed for Saturday (19 Saturday 2019) at Marapyane.
